Background and Aim: Sleep disorders are many of the most common complications of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after war that disrupt the quality of life of veterans. Therefore, the current study was aimed to evaluate the effect of the continuous care model on sleep quality in veterans with PTSD.
Methods: This was a semi-experimental single-group interventional study with before and after design. It was carried out on a sample of 30 war veterans with PTSD in Alborz province during the year 2019. Six 45-30 minute sessions of the continuous care model were held within 4 weeks. Then the training was repeated and followed up for 2 months by SMS reminder. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Standard questionnaire was used for data collection
Results: The mean age of the veterans was 53.96±5.4 years. The total score of sleep quality before intervention was 13.51±2.71, immediately after intervention was 11.26±2.81 and two months after the intervention was 7.96±2.28. Significant improvement in sleep quality of veterans was recorded after the intervention
Conclusion: Sleep quality improvement training using continuous care model improves the sleep quality of veterans with PTSD.  So, using Continuous Care Model is an effective method and is recommended along with other interventions.
