Aims and Scope
Journal of Military Medicine is a Bimonthly peer-reviewed medical journal covering research and developments in the field of health and medicine in military and crisis settings. The journal was established in 1999. It publishes original research reports, editorials, letters to the editor, and reviews.
Editorials are invited from expert in the field. Actually editorials discuss some contemporary health issue which needs special attention by the medical community in the region.
Reports of original clinical research can be submitted to the section of original article. However the editor is free to change it to a different section (e.g. short communication) if it does not meet certain criteria of originality and importance.
Articles with low to medium originality but with some important messages which deserve publishing may appear as shout communication.
Reviews in any branched of clinical medicine are considered for publication. They should be written by an expert in the field and should have a considerable number of relevant references.
Clinical cases which rarely have been reported and are interesting for the physician are considered for publication.
Letters to Editor
We encourage our reader to submit letter critiquing published paper in JMM. However sometime submitted papers to other sections may be accepted to be published as a letter. It is the responsibility of the author to change the format of the paper to a letter and decrease the word count to less than 1000 with a maximum of one figure or one table and a maximum of four references.
Peer Review Process
Contributions for almost all sections of journals are subjected to peer review by at least three experts in the field. Submissions should conform to the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals . Unsolicited manuscripts will be reviewed for publication with the following understanding that: They represent original work The paper, including its essential data, tables, and figures, has not been published elsewhere in whole or part The paper neither was published already nor is being under review elsewhere Upon acceptance, the paper may not be published elsewhere without the written permission of this journal The published paper is the sole property of MMJ and may be edited before publication
Journal of Military Medicine is publishing electronically, 6 issues per volume annually.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
Journal of Military Medicine is an Open Access journal. Since the beginning of April 2019, publishing an article in this journal requires payment of an APC that will be billed to the corresponding author following acceptance for publication. No submission charges, page charges, or color charges exist apart from the APC. The APC would be 3,000,000 IR. Rials for all Articles.
Journal of Military Medicine offers a waiver of APC to authors. If a valuable article is submitted and accepted, the journal will not avoid publishing it for not paying the APC. Therefore, authors who are not able to pay the charge, are encouraged to contact the journal by sending an email (milmedjournalgmail.com) to explain their situation and ask for a waiver and the journal will evaluate the request.
